C.A.R.E. is looking for three enthusiastic colleagues to join our team and be dedicated to support immigrants and refugees to successfully settle and participate in our community.

 

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS MANAGER

The Community Connections Manager to lead the way for successful integration of newcomers in our community.

This position is responsible for management and leadership of our Community Connections Team, and is a member of the Senior Management Team of the Agency.

Requirements are:

  • Knowledge of the settlement process and issues facing immigrants and refugees during their integration process.
  • Relevant post-secondary management degree or equivalent training and experience.
  • Good leadership skills and supervisory experience, and demonstrated ability to work independently and manage own workload and time.
  • Strong focus on client and community service with orientation towards innovation and collaboration
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Red Deer and Central Alberta community services and collateral agencies; awareness of and ability to use appropriate community resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the Agency.
  • Good communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.

Settlement Practitioner in Schools – Arabic Speaking (Full-time 35 hours/week)

The Settlement Practitioner In Schools contributes to C.A.R.E.’s mission and vision by providing settlement support to newcomer students and their families to help them adjust successfully to their new school and settle and integrate into our community. This position extends settlement services beyond the traditional agency office location through an open community location, and therefore promotes a welcoming and inclusive community and coordination of services.

Requirements are:

  • Knowledge of the settlement process and issues facing immigrants and refugees during their integration process.
  • Relevant education or work experience in client service provision
  • Certification as a Settlement Practitioner or committed to working towards certification within a reasonable amount of time
  • Second language a strong asset
  • Group facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise and network with wider community
  • Ability to take initiative, determine priorities and to work with minimal supervision.

This is a temporary employment opportunity.

Fluent Arabic speaking and writing is required.

Settlement Practitioner Rural Communities (Full-time 35 hours/week)

The Settlement Practitioner Rural Communities contributes to C.A.R.E.’s mission and vision by providing settlement support services to new immigrants that assist them with their initial settlement and integration into their community, and by assisting local community service providers to enhance their resources and expertise to provide a satisfactory response as needed. This position extends settlement services beyond the City of Red Deer through presence and partnerships in rural communities, and therefore promotes welcoming and inclusive communities and coordination of services.

Requirements are:

  • Knowledge of the settlement process and issues facing immigrants and refugees during their integration process.
  • Relevant education or work experience in client service provision
  • Second language an asset
  • Certification as a Settlement Practitioner or committed to working towards certification within a reasonable amount of time
  • Group facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise and network with wider community
  • Ability to take initiative, determine priorities and to work with minimal supervision.

Red Deer Local Immigration Partnership (RDLIP) PROGRAM COORDINATOR

The Red Deer Local Immigration Partnership (RDLIP) is a community based partnership to improve the integration of immigrants within the community and strengthen the community’s ability to better address the needs of newcomers.

RDLIP is seeking an energetic and qualified individual to fill the position of Program Coordinator:

Responsibilities include facilitation of committees work in the different areas of focus, community engagement at large, and use of research data to develop and implement an immigration strategy for the community.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post-secondary degree in social sciences, community development, or other related fields
  • Excellent organizations and project management skills with proven ability implementing large and small scale initiatives
  • Proven experience of various research methods and outcomes measurement
  • Solid experience of working with multiple stakeholders, working within a collective impact model.
