SEEKING SETTLEMENT PRACTITIONER IN SCHOOLS

Central Alberta Refugee Effort (C.A.R.E.) is seeking a full-time Arabic speaking Settlement Practitioner in Schools for a temporary position ending June 2016 with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will work with Immigrant and Refugee youth and their families to provide settlement services and assist them in transitioning to the Canadian school system and with other settlement needs.

The successful candidate will:

Hold a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience and education); have a valid class 5 driver’s license and vehicle; speak English and Arabic (other languages an asset); be able to work in Canada; be able to work independently; ability to work with Microsoft office and computers

Preferred skills and experience:

Experience working with youth; knowledge of available community supports; counselling and facilitation skills; understanding of immigrant and refugee experiences;
