Public & Rural Awareness

Welcome to the Public and Rural Awareness programs.

The Public Awareness program makes such a positive impact on our classes and our school community. C.A.R.E. helps our students become more culturally sensitive and aware of the diversity in our world, as well as in our community.

For over 20 years, C.A.R.E. has been providing free cultural awareness programming to groups of all ages within Central Alberta.  Our mission is to create welcoming communities that value cultural diversity and encourage the successful integration of all new comers.  Over the years we are proud to have hosted many large multicultural events to commemorate worldwide celebrations and dates during the year.  If you want to keep up to date with what we have planned, you can start receiving our newsletter by clicking here.

To create the best programs possible, we have the pleasure of working with many great volunteers that willingly give their time to share their culture, stories and history to help make Central Alberta a great place to be. Our cultural consultants are an invaluable part of our many programs.

Schools – We provide free educational programs that meet Alberta Education’s curriculum guidelines from Kindergarten to Grade 12.  We can help plan cultural celebrations, educational sessions and can bring volunteers that will bring a world of culture into your classroom.

Libraries, Community Centres, Summer Camps and more – We have many different programs that can help build a community of culturally aware citizens within your organization.  We can run programs for children, families and adult groups that both challenge and educate.

Businesses and Organizations – C.A.R.E. provides Cultural Awareness training for organizations and businesses in Central Alberta. This training can be presented in 3 different levels with each one building a higher level of Cultural Competency within the organization as a whole.  Cultural Awareness Training builds cross cultural communication, bridges between staff, an understanding of differences and an appreciation of cultural diversity.
